SUS members have been transforming discarded textiles and everyday materials into something new, beautiful and loved.
Inspired by the principles of slow fashion, SUS began in 2017 with a shared desire to mend, repair and repurpose, reducing textile waste while celebrating the creative possibilities of what we already have.
At the heart of SUS is love — love for the planet, love of making, and love for the community that has grown through ten years of sharing skills, stories, ideas and materials.
10 Years of Hearts on Our Sleeve brings these ideas together through an exhibition of SUS group creations and the making of upcycled hearts. Each heart is a small expression of care: stitched, pieced, patched, repurposed and reimagined. Together, they represent the many hands, friendships and creative journeys that make up SUS.
This exhibition is a celebration of 10 years of putting our hearts into what we make — and wearing our values on our sleeves.
Meet the artists, spend time with the work, and enjoy a relaxed afternoon at The Line & Rail Artspace. All welcome, light refreshments served.
The Line & Rail Artspace is open Thursday to Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm.
The Line & Rail Artspace is a Logan City Council, Creative Industries initiative supported by theRegional Arts Development Fund, a partnership between the Queensland Government and Logan City Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.
